While many franchise consultants/brokers exist today, and can be knowledgeable about franchise organizations, majority of them have NEVER operated a franchise business, or ever built a successful business/organization, or sold a profitable business to another individual. All they do is show options on something they have never done themselves.
That’s exactly what makes Horizon Consulting Partners different, as a franchise owner with experience managing employees, and helping educate individuals understand what it’s like to run a business, do it the correct way, and successfully.

Alex Matini is a graduate of Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is a serial entrepreneur, having started 4 companies prior to becoming a franchise consultant, looking to help professionals realize their dream of becoming business owners. Three of Alex’s four startups were in the commercial real estate industry, including development and private equity financing of commercial properties. His fourth start-up was in the telecom industry, where he grew his company to 204 employees with annual revenue of $35 million. Alex’s expertise is in navigating the challenges of a business start-up including financing and scaling of the business. In addition, Alex is an expert in matching the right franchise opportunity with the professional’s skill sets, business background, financial capacity, and risk tolerance. Alex believes that for most professionals looking to start a business, doing so through a well-established franchise is a far wiser option than starting a business from scratch which requires guess work and trial and errors to determine the path to success. In contrast, franchises are built on a set of proven principals and processes, eliminating the need for any guess work. Furthermore, a franchisee benefits from the experiences of other franchisees, not to mention the support and guidance of the franchisor who provides the franchisee with a proven road map to success. Alex was raised in Connecticut and is a native of Washington DC.
- We’ll spend the time needed with you to understand what your goals are. Imagine buying a home or even a car without first stepping back to decide what you need and what your investment range should be? You owe it to yourself and your family to start your search with some guidelines in place–that is where we can help.
- After we understand what your personal and professional goals are, we’ll begin contacting franchisors on your behalf. You’ll never have to visit websites, request information and then wait around to see if a franchise is potentially the right fit–we’ll do all of that for you.
- We’ll show you franchises that you’d probably never even consider on your own. Yes, that is something that an experienced franchise professional, with a deeper understanding of the opportunities in today’s marketplace, will regularly do for their clients. If you love coffee, you’ll probably gravitate to a looking at coffee franchises, even though owning a coffee franchise has very little to do with loving coffee. You owe it to yourself to understand what franchise models best align with your existing skills and we’ll help get that picture into focus.
- If you need financing, we can refer you to 3rd party lenders who specialize in financing franchises. All too often someone’s life’s dream of franchise ownership is squashed by their local bank’s loan officer who many have little or no experience in lending to potential franchisees.
